San Joaquin County Grand Jury Tell Critics to Back Off, They Stand By Stockton Unified Findings

STOCKTON (RECORDNET) -
“Those folks, in my estimation, on the grand jury, are not technical individuals,” McLaughlin said only hours after the report became public. “They may not have asked the questions that would have given them the answers.”
Apprised of McLaughlin’s comment, three of the grand jurors have since defended their efforts.
“I highly take exception to that,” former grand juror Gary Gregg said. “It doesn’t surprise me that some folks are going to attempt to take exception to the outcome. It’s just the nature of the beast.”
David Renison, foreman of the 2007-08 grand jury, added: “The target of a grand jury can respond in any manner they choose. The report is the independent voice of a thorough investigation into several areas of concern for the benefit of the citizens.”
