How Much is Enough - SB1369 Seeks to Ban Charity Bingo

Senate Bill 1369 abruptly eliminates a critical fund-raising option for many charities in your neighborhood.  Today, electronic bingo provides millions of dollars to fund organizations that provide vital services for those most in need, including the Society for the Blind, United Cerebral Palsy, Disabled Sports, Wounded Warrior Project, Wind Youth Services, Stanford Home for Children and hundreds more.

What’s more, a leading expert on gambling says that this special interest bill “could lead to the greatest expansion of legal gambling in history,” allowing anyone to play Blackjack, Poker and other casino games on the internet! This new bill would also threaten public education funding by creating unwanted competition with the State Lottery.

And what local government agencies will step forward to provide these critical services when local charities fail? To save the countless charities who give so much back to your community, take action now by urging Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to veto SB 1369.
