Needle Exchanges in Yolo County

I had a piece in the Sacramento Bee forum section today.  Earlier this week the Bee editorialized in favor of the program.  I opposed the program when it was first introduced and I oppose it now.

You can read the Bee editorial here.

Not too sure dope fiends go around using fresh needles at every opportunity.. the fact that buying syringes isn’t all that easy leads to folks using one old needle over and over.  So if Johnny opiate comes in with one old dirty, heavily used needle your answer is to just give him one in exchange… so now he has to use that one over and over.  Listen… we subsidize drug use every day.. just try and see how much Pfizer paid in taxes last year and how many govt grants/ contracts they received. Oh and I loved your use of pets in the op ed… now it’s not just “the children ..the poor children” now it’s “The children and the pets!!” Who will protect them??  lol
